First,
Has anyone in the group had the courage to ask Larry Wright if he was
one of the members of that 1970's garage cover band, the Rostyle Stones, yet?
More scary, I was just thinking last night of how I painted my Rostyles
on my Capri 2000 in college. I think I just used some Krylon matte black
unmasked on the center black portion of the wheel, and later masked off
the black and the tire, and sprayed the silver part. The stamping on the
finish side of the wheel is delineated where the colors change, so it's
a little easier to mask.
Finally, I was thinking that the later Sunbeam Rapier H120 had Rostyles
with 165-13 tires. Sure enough, the 1968 version uses the same style
wheel as the U.S. version Capri. The 1974 version H120 uses a Rostyle
wheel closer in appearance to that on the early 1970's Opel Manta coupe
and station wagon.
