Tom, it was not nor would it ever be my intention to be disrespectful. My Dad
taught me that lesson early in live and I have been grateful for it ever
since. With that said if I offended you or others on the list I sincerely
apologize.
The point I was trying to make was NOT to immediately be suspicious and
assume that every Tiger Mk II being sold is a fraud. Investigate, yes. Ask all
the
questions you want but just don't jump to conclusions and I am afraid that
there are many that do just that. Is it beneficial to have your car Tac'd? I
say
it is IF you can get it done but that is not always possible for a number of
acceptable reasons.
I think the answers that have been circulated on the list have been well
founded and I salute those that have offered their thoughts and opinions.
Personally (and I am absolutely NOT a Tiger expert) I think the car for sale
looks
extremely good and original. Would I ask for more pictures and details? Sure.
Would I check with known experts like Norm? Again, sure. But would I pass on
the
car just because it was not listed? Absolutely not.
I bought a Mk II and I went though all the possible checks that I could
before purchasing it. In the end I could not prove one way or the other if it
was
absolutely a Mk II but I did get as much providence as possible and after
seeing the car I am satisfied. It is an extremely nicely restored Mk II but IF
I
could have had an unrestored original like the car on e-bay seems to be I would
have taken it over the restored one.
Again, just my opinions but I wanted you to understand that I fully respect
your opinions too!
Best regards,
Gary
