It sounds like we're nearly neighbors--no, mine was the blue car at
British Car Day in Bonsall.
Your suggestion about the cage got me thinking. The cage is attached to
the frame and the pumpkin is supported from the cage. I might be able
to come up with a new cross-member similar to the one you saw. That
would fit tighter than the cage and still let me hang the pumpkin from
the new crossmember. Which would get the pumpkin up higher and
effectively lower the car body, (hopefully) levelling out the lower
control arms.
It's certainly worth adding to the list of options I've gotten both on
and off-list.
