About a year or so ago I did my rearend and asked the list about the axle
steel shims too. I don't think I ever got a reply that was fruitful. I think
the spec. is .006 to .008 and I was at .004 and just decided to live with
it. Haven't moved the car yet so I can't tell you the results. Also be
careful as a lot of people confused this question of mine with needing the
diff preload shims that are available from SS. This momentarily got my hopes
up only to find that they had misunderstood.
