Allan, read the United article on this, and make sure the MGB, not MGA
arms are reversed. But this is with the Midget R&P.
The reason the steering is easier, if it is a MGB arm, is that they are
longer, and give more leverage.
Your shop should be able to tell you, not you tell him what is making
the noise.
Self centering and running true is a matter of alignment. Regardless of
the set up.
What is camber now, and why does he want more?
From your description, I really don't know what is happening with your
car. Not enough info, and if you mixing and matching, and not the
prescription in the article, you should know, or your mechanic should
know what you are doing.
The reason for the Midget R&P and MGB arms is to help correct ackerman
problems, and provide better bushings in R&P and quicker turning.
