Its pretty easy to tell if you have solid or hydraulic lifters. Just stick your ear close to one of the valve covers with the engine running. If you still can't tell for sure then you have hydraulics because solids sound like forty tap dancers doing a Bob Fosse number on a Broadway stage. No matter how I've adjusted mine, tehy always have that distinctive solid lifter sound. Don in San Dimas |
