Hi Mark, I seem to remember that the original fittings to hold the stainless steel side trim were metal. These should now be removed and discarded (or if you are like me, put into a plastic bag for future use...ha,ha,ha), since you have the modern day replacements, which are the plastic ones and which work just as well.
