I believe the originally came from small aircraft.

I bought a Bugeye ten years ago that had an aluminum plate glued to the dash
that said:
CAUTION
DO NOT LOWER WINDOWS
AT SPEEDS IN EXCESS OF
120 M.P.H.
Obviously, this was a gag, but the plate has the look and age of an
original. Anyone have any ideas what this came from?
