It appears one of the electronic sensors is starting to fail. The new OBD2
diagnostics will not only tell you if a component of the emissions system is
working it will also indicate when one starts (begins to degrade) to fail
and begins reading outside of the normal performance range but is still
considered functioning. The light may have detected a weak ground or
something and then determined that it was "not that bad".
