A thick copper gasket might take it down a little. Calculate the
compression ratio (on the TigersUnited.com links for automotive
formulae) vs original thickness and see.
Ought to be real cautious about notching heads. Mostly this is done for
valve lift clearance, not compression ratio. For that the lower the
height above the wrist pin and/or dish the piston. In either case, the
piston was designed with a thick enough top for this purpose.
Put it back on EBay. Maybe there another buyer out there.
