As with any caustic material I always read the label and take the appropriate
precautions. My suggestion was for cast iron exhaust manifold nuts. I guess I
presume to much by not stating, "Not for use on aluminum, use with
caution....caustic chemicals."
As far as paint, it works just as good if not better than ATF and brake
fluid.
