Hello Sunbeamers:
The dates, locations and events for this summer's Tigers
United have been finalized: June 28, 29 & 30, (Friday,
Saturday & Sunday) 2002 at Mammoth Lakes, California. (Check
out Mapquest.com for the location). This is a great setting
for our event and was also the site for the 1990 Tigers United
which was a big success and a lot of fun. Expect awesome
scenery, excellent Sunbeam highways (lots of winding roads,
plus plenty of chances to go real fast, not that any of us
would want to do that or break any speed laws). The event
hotel is Mammoth Mountain Inn. It's a beautiful hotel with
very nice rooms and excellent, first class service. Call soon
to make your reservations at 1-(800)626-6684. Tell them you're
attending Tigers United. Expect some surprise speakers at the
event banquet, and more autocrossing, rallying, quizing,
concoursing, parts sales and swapping, great information
dispensing (plus probably some tall tale telling thrown in for
good measure), and good food than you'll be able to stand,
plus great scenery and plenty of surrounding interesting areas
to explore. Expect to see lots and lots of Tigers and a few
Alpines too (This year Alpines will have their own
classifications in all events except for the Lord Rootes
Trophy, which is of course a traditional Tiger award). Turnout
is usually between 70-90 cars and you'll see everything from
just barely running, to cars better than the day they rolled
off the assembly line and everything in between, and you'll
get lots of ideas on new ways to spend lots more time and
money on your Sunbeams in the future. Prediction: One of the
most fun Sunbeam drives and events you'll ever attend.
The official registration form and car classification
guidlines follow as attachments, along with appropriate phone
numbers and e-mail addresses. If your mail lists won't bring
these up, let me know and I'll send them directly to you. This
is also going out to most Tiger and Alpine clubs directly so
you should also be able to get the forms directly from those
if they're publicising the event (usually in your
newsletters).
