I did the trunk gasket, and a lot of firewall sealing, in about the same
time period, and noticed a great improvement.  I really can't say which was
more significant.  Since then, I've gone to the Portland (ME) United, 3
hours each way, with the hardtop on and the windows wide open, and done a
lot more late season driving.   I have not attacked any of the sneaky
passages that have been mentioned on this network.  Still, the perceived air
quality in the car is better.
