Duncan and Bob,

I too have the LAT-2 (-8) TIGER aluminum valve covers, with the fins
factory removed on the rear half from the SHELBY lettered original. In
addition, I still have the original factory motor mount washer-spacers
between the motor mount and the block that raises the engine a bit more.

Yes, some of the hex bolt heads are difficult to start, but only the
inside rear ones.  I have had no problem removing/installing the valve
covers, once the bolts are out.

I have seen the allen head installations and they look nice. A swivel
extension would help get the angle you need to get the hex or allen head
to turn in/out easier.

Another cute trick is to use a longer bolt on the inside rear, with a
nut/washer run up the lower threads to the same protruding thread as
original. This puts the head of the bolt (allen or hex) nearer the valve
cover top and easier to get to.  Too deep inside to be noticeable.
