Patrick,
This might be a "Smiths" part - meaning british pipe thread. Hopefully
someone can give you a "real" answer soon, but I believe this is what you
are looking at. Is there a part # on the fitting? (If memory serves, the
Smith #'s were BH #### or something like that.)
