Hi
I have half-heartedly decided to put my Tiger up for sale. Or at least see
if there is any interest before I put it in storage for the winter. Family
(new baby) concerns have changed my priorities a bit lately.
Anyway, the Tiger is a dark blue 66 Mk 1A (382002652). The car had one owner
till 99. Purchased new from Larry Reed Sports Cars in LA. It spent its
entire life in SoCal And Southwest Texas until I had it shipped to New York
last year. It was never rusted or damaged. Has service records from day one
(it comes with a 4 inch thick loose leaf binder full of records). It was
repainted in 1999 the original color and is in superb condition. The body
was completely rust and damage free when repainted.(I have pictures of the
process). An LAT repro hood was added to the car at the time it was painted.
The body is just about perfect. The chrome is original and in good shape.
The interior was mostly redone in 2000 with a completely new dash and seats.
Interior is black and original in style except it has the dash with glove
box door. It has a new windshield, soft top, and toneau cover. All seals and
rubber have been replaced throughout the car. It has a matching hard top
that can not be distinguished from new. The car has Shelby wheels that were
put on the car by the original owner and are in absolutely perfect condition
(new Pirellis w/500 miles).
The drivetrain is original, the 260 was professionally rebuilt in 1975
(about 30k miles ago) with performance cam, solid lifters and headers. An
LAT type intake was added in 2000 (F4B and 460 Holley with PCV). Most of the
engine compartment looks stock except for Tiger script valve covers and
remote oil filter (it comes with two air cleaners, chrome stock and aluminum
Tiger). The car has approximately 70,000 miles on it. The car has been
refurbished mechanically but not comprehensively restored because it has not
needed it. It is a fantastic driver and I have put on 1500 trouble free
miles in the past year. There are lots of new parts on the car, I can make a
list if someone is interested.
The car has its complete tool kit, jack etc. As a matter of fact the trunk
is all original and in very nice shape (I think it is the original unused
spare tire). You can see some pictures at this really crapy web site I set
up last year so a couple friends could see the car, I appologize for the
awful web site but my computer is on its last legs and I can not even visit
the site anymore, also, you can ignore the baby pictures.
The car was featured in the Nov. 2000 Tiger Tales. I have over $21K in the
car and naturally would like to get as much of that back as is possible. I
know I am forgetting some stuff but if you have questions let me know.
If you know anyone looking for a great Tiger that is mostly original/stock
but still has a few period performance mods, then this is the car for them.
It is a superb car. I get lots of compliments at car events, and people are
always taking pictures of it.
Greg
