Just returned from the World Human Powered Speed Championships in Battle
Mountain, NV. The fastest bike was built by a sculptor for a couple of
thousand in materials. the Reynard sponsored team, a $250,000+ team
investment managed only 78% of the winning speed!!!
BTW, the winning speed was 77+mph (human powered on the level).
One case were cubic money and unobtanium didn't do the job. (Exception to
the rule, perhaps.
