Radialman,
I think that your name is Jeff??? I am no expert on the pulley offset, but
believe it stems from not having the proper waterpump for the Tiger. My
limited understanding is that often it is replace with a generic small block
pump and the pulley hub does not line up with the crank and generator. In
your case the generator may have been altered somehow to align with the
wrong waterpump setting. Also I think there is a Tiger pulley for the
generator too and that could be the problem rather than the water pump.
There was I think some test that is done using a dime as a gauge. Hopefully
others can confirm or correct my info. as I am only going on memory not
experience.
As to the thermostat, put it in a pot of boiling water, if it opens at
least you know it will be working. If you have a candy thermometer you can
follow from room temp and see where it is actually opening at. Hope this
