Each engineer was teamed with a Japanese Bridgestone counterpart, or "Big
Brother", brought over from Japan. They were nominally equals, but in
reality they were there to pick brains and instill the Bridgestone culture.
Nothing could be done by a Firestone engineer without the consent and
approval of his Bridgestone counterpart. It was a real eye opener.
