wrong pump or timing cover???

Just tried fitting my nice new tiger pump to my old 1969 302 timing cover
and the impeller hits the timing cover. Was there a bigger recess on the
tiger timing cover? Anyone have the right timing cover?

Getrag gearbox is now in, gear stick comes up 1/2" in front of x-member.
Just making the steel/rubber brackets to hold it. Tomorrow we're moving the
steering rack back a bit and mounting the off-the-shelf Chevy Griffin
aluminium radiator. wish me luck!
