Here's a cooling question for the list.
Has anyone come up with a modified fan shroud so that the back 1/2 or
1/3 of the fan is not enclosed by the shroud?
I checked the list archives and there has been discussion on the subject
but no resolution, it seems. In my Tiger I don't really have the option
of modifying the water pump/pulley to bring the fan closer to the engine
due to my A/C installation, etc. I have what I think is the "Canadian"
fan (F-C9DE-A stamped on the blades). Since my engine compartment isn't
too stock anymore anyway, a modified shroud would seem to be one ticket
to improved air flow in stop and go traffic. I think Tiger Tom's study
mentioned this could improve things, if I'm not mistaken. I don't really
have an overheating problem, but I'd like to cool things down a bit more
under the hood.
