To all Tigers and 'Pines,
A happy Cinco de Mayo (5th of May, for the "out-of-it")
While you may not celebrate this holiday of the Mexican Independence, it
is quite an event on this coast.
Much like on St. Patrick's Day, everybody is Irish. On Cinco de Mayo,
everyone celebrates Mexican Independence Day in California. Los Angeles
is about 47% Hispanic, anyway, so that makes it a majority event.
The best part, for me, is fresh tortillas wrapped around great meat and
5 blends of cheese, and other magic ingredients, into a great Burrito.
When washed down with a cold, fresh strawberry Margarita (or so) it
makes for a wonderful celebration of the liberation of a fine people.
Hasta La Vista, Baby!
