Tom,
I have the same traction bars on my Tiger. The shorter bolt-on bars are
designated LAT-6's and the longer weld-on bars are LAT-5's. Actually mine
started life as LAT-5's but I modified them to be like LAT-6's. Norm Miller
(I think) told me the bolt-ons work better. In TBON there are
illustrations/pictures of the two types of bars. In the illustration of the
LAT-5 configuration, one bar is clearly marked "right" and has the clipped
corner forward and outboard. But in the picture of the LAT-6 configuration
the bars are not identified left or right and are laid side by side with
the clipped corner forward and inboard. I mounted mine with the clipped
corner forward and outboard like its is shown in the LAT-5 configuration. I
have had no problems with them mounted like that.
I had a local spring shop bend me some longer U-bolts to make up for the
added thickness of the rear mounting plate.
