My dad was driving round the back streets of North Seattle the other day
(Before the Quake!) and drove by a house where spotted what appeared to be a
familiar tail lights lens peering out from under boards, and rags, and inches
of dust, and told me about it. The next day I drove down the driveway
Expecting to see the taillight of a triumph TR4-A (as they are quite similar
and more plentiful), but My dad said it looked like an Alpine. My old 65
Alpine that I used to have was his before it was mine... Anyway...I couldn't
see it from the street, so I drove down the long drive way...and there before
me was indeed a Sunbeam. All I could see was the left rear corner of the car.
Rest was covered in junk, in a car port, next to the owners mid 80's Volvo.
Having owned an Alpine I know them pretty well, but this one had a distinctive
badge, and chrome strip running the length of the car. This was a Tiger, in
BRG which all looked original. the left rear tire was flat and was mounted on
the LAT wheels (not 70's) but the other ones, pie cutter shape, which looked
very corroded from lack of care. No fender flares, or anything looking non
stock from the outside. It was late, and dark, and couldn't really see much
else, other than the factory hard top Also in BRG. It was kind of creepy,
because it looked exactly like my old Alpine same top, same color... My guess
is that this tiger has been motionless for probably 8 to 10 years, from the
appearance of the car and the things around it.

Now that the Excitement of today is over (our 6.8 Earth Quake), And a quick
examine of my house to see if it is still on the foundation, I'll drop but
their house again, and see if they let me tow it away for them for free. I
may even offer $50 to them to get it out of their way...

More news when I get it.. Who knows...I could be come a Tiger owner... :-)

One thing for sure, was the paint...it was original...the EXACT same color
mine was, no variance in shade or anything. My initial guess is it's a 65.
Know more tomorrow..

Rich
