I've had a series of Volvos and they tend to develop rust inside the bottom
of the door panel after 8 or 9 years. I had a body man look at the rust
streaks showing at the weep hole in the bottom of the door. He said it would
be too expensive for the age of the car to do a good repair. He suggested I
put a thin 3' plastic tube on an oil can and load up the inside and do it
once or twice a year. I have done it (leave the car on the grass for a few
hrs. with newspaper to catch the drippings). The rust stops completely.
There is no more rust stain at the drain holes. It has been 3 years now.
