You guys are being to defensive. :)  I own a 427 Cobra, and I'm thinking a
supercharged (not turbo) Miata would make a great commuter car. Think about it.
28 mpg, about $23, good reliability, doesn't leak (oil out, or water in), the
top is easy, air conditioning, and about 8 lbs/hp. I think it would be fun.
Maybe not exciting, but fun.

PS: Vortec superchargers are C.A.R.B. legal, bolt on horsepower. They act just
like you have doubled the displacement.
