Rick,
There is a 95% chance you have:
1) a dirty battery cable connector to battery post (+ or - wire)
2) a dirty battery cable connector to battery wire connection (+ or - wire)
3) a poor ground (earth) attachment on the battery ground wire to chassis
4) is a 5% chance the solenoid has developed a fault and needs to be
replaced. A solenoid is simply a heavy-duty relay, and they fail
occasionally but not often.
