I can't remember how the heater controls are assembled onto the back of the
dash. This is a difficult question to put into writing in a brief EMAIL but
I'll give it a try.
The heater valve and vent controls have cable clamps which direct the
control cables out at an angle. Which direction should the cables point
when the controls are properly mounted on the dash?
A. Both cables head toward the driver side.
B. Both cable head toward the passenger side.
C. Cables head in opposite directions.
If C, which cable heads which way?
It seems that the heater valve control cable wants to head toward the
drivers side and the vent control toward the passenger side but I can't
figure out how to attach the controls to the mounting "L" brackets to make
this happen and have the handles at the same vertical height in the control
bezel slots.
Should the controls "hang" from the "L" brackets or should the brackets
"hold up" the controls?
Given the correct assembly, how are the cables routed and about how long
should they be?
Please help, this is (hopefully) last puzzle to solve before installing the
dash.
