Hi Larry,
Since you don't have a LAT hood, one option is to use or make a snorkel
adapter, where you run one or two 3" hoses to the horn vent holes, to plumb
into one or a pair of filters that sit ahead of the radiator. You get two
bonuses: one is that becaust the snorkel head at the carb only needs to be
about 4" diameter, it can be taller than a larger-diameter air cleaner
without rubbing, and this will improve breathing, and the second bonus is
that cool air is worth horsepower. The downside is that you still have to
swap it out for shows, depending on the appearance of the final product, and
what kind of a show it is.
I haven't really looked around but I imagine someone must make something
like this.
