Wow,
BMW just announced it was selling their entire acquisition of Rover. Seems the
Pound is so strong that the car is too pricey for Euro countries.
The workers and country frothed at the mouth when Rover was sold to a German
firm,
and now they are frothing because it is selling it to an English firm.
The new company will have a "new " name, the MG Car Company. Somehow that
sounds
familiar. Can a gas turbine MG-TC be far behind?
Can VW be ready to sell Rolls Royce? (a dumb purchase as they must use BMW
engines, and don't own the name). Perhaps they will call the new company
Rootes,
and make a new model Bentley called the Sunbeam Tiger? Might make up for W. O.
Bentley's pique when the Sunbeam Super Sport beat his cars at Le Mans in 1925.
He's still mad. They can re-name the Rolls-Royce, when the name reverts to
BMW, a
Humber Super Snipe. {9->
