Just came back from practice at Sebring, Florida in preparation for the 12hr
Endurance race runing this Sat, with Vintage support races.
This year there is a group from England (Anglo-American Challenge)
these cars are FIA Group 6 cars like Tigers (5ea) Corvettes, Camaros, Shelby
Cobras, Shelby Mustangs, 55 chevy, Jag XKEs &
Alpine(sunbeam). Total of 20 to 25 came over to race against the
Americans. Total race field is 45-50 cars.
The main insterest are the Tigers.
During todays practice for the Vintage Race Groups all the Brits
were having fun getting handle on the Runway race track until one of the
tigers collided with the wall or a Corvette at turn 16, the Tiger
was able to return to the pits with left rear fender damage, No report on
the Corvette.
I notice a few of the Tigers were using Brembo calipers, they are
Gigantic with 15" rims, ther are right & left hand drive, all have hard tops
with the normal windshield(required for FIA cars). It appeared they still
have problems stopping.
