My mk 1 Tiger has had DOT 3 brake fluid in the brakes & clutch for at least 5 years now. I had rebuilt the calipers & rear wheel cylinders about 5 years ago, but the master cylinders & clutch slave have been untouched for a long time. I have not had any more hydraulic problems with my car than what I've seen on other Brit cars using the correct fluid. I have certainly heard the claim that the DOT 3 will ruin the rubber in the system, & perhaps it will, but my own experience has been good. Doug Leithauser |
