Chris,
After looking at a Minister's "Project Car" he loved, but would part with for
$6,000 with most of the pieces, some of which he was sure might work, we headed
home to L.A. and stopped in La Jolla for one I had heard was there with "20,000
miles of showroom stock, father died, son wants to sell, Tiger"
You should have tried La Jolla. Their main street has two fantastic Exotic Car
places, neither of which had even heard of a Sunbeam Tiger, but had an excellent
Lambo or 300 SL. One had all three Alfa Romeo Disco Volante's for sale (all
ever
made). The place was like a museum in decor and quality. So were the prices.
Never found the one I was looking for. Turns out there is yet another Exotic
Car
place on an adjacent street. Three in one little town. Think that's where Bob
Palmer hang's out. He really should zip it, occasionally. {9->
When I left town ,15 minutes ahead of the worst hail storm ever to stop the San
Diego Freeway, I was under Jay's Alpine tonneau cover for the rain. He had a
brand new top in the boot, but had never put it together.
Now there's a town with some Exotic Prices.
