Actually, Doug,
You only hve to use a small hole saw, to drill through the existing steel baffle
insert, to let the adjustment nut stick through. Of course someone out here has
made a Sooper Dooper Forged Billet Aluminum Ultimate Rocker that is
extra-ordinarily large. Seen lots of TIGERS and COBRAS with just such a drilled
clearance hole installation. An extra thick gasket doesn't hurt either, unless
you are getting too close to the firewall in the corner of the valve cover.
There
is a little valve cover filing that can be done, without hitting air.
Another trick is to remove the spacer washers of the motor mounts. This will
lower your engine for clearance. Be very careful, here, I almost ruined my
perfectly trimmed 6 blade FOMOCO Canadian fan as it just struck the rack 'a
little'. It self-formed it's shape, after a few hundred miles, so I just
cleaned
it up. Wondered what that sound was on acceleration.
