Jim My very original MK IA has burled maple not walnut and still has the original cracks in the finish! It looks just like the dashes I've seen on late MK IA and MK II. The steering wheel is walnut and refinishes great. Fact is some of the MK II were imported with the black Alpine wheel (covered with leather) due to a shortage in wood steering wheels.
