Wiring harness

the wiring harness on my MKIA is so bad that is scares me to think of
reinstalling it. I have heard several less that approving comments about
the electrical system since i have joined the list. I was thinking of going
with a Painless Wiring (yea right) harness vice a repro original. Have any
of you tried this route? One other question are the brake shoes for the
tiger and SV alike?
