Steve,
The double flare tool is NOT expensive. It was about 7 years ago
I bought mine but it was maybe 20 bucks. And as I recall I was
able to make a perfect bubble flare with it too. I first used it
to make a new pipe for the rear axle. It didn't leak when
first installed and 7 years later is still perfect!
BTW, my Midland booster has some simple adapter fittings that
hook it up to the stock lines without modification.
