Went to the annual British Car Meeting in Nantua, eastern France,
yesterday (yes, we have them in Europe too).
Unfortunately, the weather was rotten, which probably accounted for the
low turnout. There were about 60 cars there by 2pm and the roads were
starting to dry out.
Good showing from Jaguar - E-Types, Mark 2s, and big modern saloons and
from Minis. Two Rolls Royces. A few TRs from a 2 to a 7, Healeys
(Frogeye Sprites to 3000 Mk III) and assorted others. Two Land Rovers
(a new Range Rover and my one-year old Defender) and - yes - one Sunbeam
- a 1966 Imp. No other Rootes-mobiles. (My Tiger is in its
pre-roadworthiness test stage - and I'm not sure I would have taken it
out of the garage in that weather anyway).
