plug indexing, fried electrodes

Were the mysterious fried spark plugs indexed? anything that prevents proper
heat transfer from the plug to the cylinder head can cause the plug to
overheat & burn up. If an indexing gasket does not conduct heat properly or
if the plug was loose, or got loose after a few heat cycles of the indexing
gasket that could account for toasty spark plugs.
