Theo,
I'm a little bit surprised by all the problems you seem to be having getting
the engine and related parts to fit in your car. You shouldn't have any
problem fitting a double pumper with the correct, handed engine mounts and
OEM heat shields. I run a double pumper on an F4B with an EC-1 air cleaner
under a LAT hood. There is even room for some spacers under the carb. I
suspect the thing that makes the biggest difference in the fit of any carb is
the manifold it's mounted on. Maybe the F4B isn't the hot set up by today's
standards, but by golly, it sure works good on a Tiger!
