It sounds like you may have a Mustang style clutch pressure plate designed
for the mechanical ratio clutch linkage: if you still use a hydraulic clutch,
you need to have a different arm ratio on your pressure plate, and no
counterweights on the outboard ends of the arms. When I bought my Tiger, the
prior owner had installed the wrong type clutch, and it was awful trying to
perform high rpm shifts...over 3500 rpm! Secondly, how many car batteries do
you have in the trunk of your V6 Alpine to get it to 2700 lbs? With the
original power train, it should be around 2200 lbs, and if your conversion
added a quarter ton to the car, I am amazed!
