(a) wouldn't adding _any_ kind of goop change the torque setting by
acting as a lubricant? I read this somewhere, possibly right on this
List, didn't save it...
(b) a glob of silicone caulk, I'd guess, would cap of those recesses
above the tip of the bolt.

Yes, twice, but not on a Tiger and not recently. Pretty sure the one on
my brothers Suzuki Samurai (ugh) was from J C Junk, went on in an hour
and worked great, but I recall it plugged into the stock on-board black
box, thus not a Sunbeam-type application. The one I put in my Datsun 510
was from Zemco, picked up its speed reading from a sensor that counted
magnets pass by that were attached to the driveshaft; it worked well
too. In addition, it had a fuel flow device, and a digital read-out
panel on the dash gave current and trip MPG, gallons per hour,
miles-to-empty, etc; I think it told you 82 different (mostly useless)
things. I still have it and keep thinking about sticking it in the
Garage Queen.
I found cruise control to be about the easiest accessory I've ever added
to a car; your problem on a Tiger will be finding space for the
components.

Sorry; keep waiting. I've been told that the max that can go on a shirt
is 250 words, and all of my "Inquiry" messages have been going well over
that.

Try shifting up. :^)
