Motorsports International sells a cast aluminum bracket, but it wont
be of any use to you because 289 Cobras had 5-bolt motors.
When I put a 6-bolt motor in my Cobra I made a bracket out of plate
stock, but it wasn't strong enough. It bent. If you do have one made
I recommend adding some bracing. So far that has worked for me.
One very remote possibility is checking with AC Cars Group or AC Spares.
There were a small number of AC 289s (coil-spring Cobra chassis with
6-bolt 289s and toploaders) built for the European market in the
late '60s. Maybe there are some NOS brackets for these cars still
around.
