I will check the instrument voltage regulator with my Multimeter.
Checking the sending unit seems more problematic. I believe it basically
puts out different current depending on the changing resistance in the
thermister. I might be able to measure the current but then I need to know
the temperature of the water. Perhaps a hot plate and meat thermometer might
work. Is there a simpler way to check the functioning/accuracy of the sending
unit? BTW, I replaced both sending unit and voltage regulator about 2 years
ago, and my car has had virtually no use since then, but I suppose the parts
could have failed.
