Step one:
Remove water pump.
Step two:
Using a good back stop on the shaft press the hub
down to the correct spacing.
Step three:
Take a cutoff wheel and cut off the extra length on the shaft.
Step four:
Reinstall

Subject: Waterpumps?
I´ve changed (tried to) the waterpump on my Tiger Mk 1. I bougth a
aftermarket pump and installed it w/out any problems. Exept that the fan
belt pulley did not align with the pulleys for the crankshaft and
generator. After a lot of this and that I found that the Workshop manual
said 5,15 inch (130,82 mm) between the engine mating surface and the
waterpump Hub-pulley. I measured 131 mm on my new pump as well as on
another Tiger pump. But my old ( not reparable) pump has approx. 125 mm!
And is perfectly aligned w. the crankshaft and generator pulleys! So now
to the QUESTION(s):
What engine does I have?
Is there another pump not shown in the Sunbeam 260 Spare parts List?
Can I move the Hub-pulley (heat and so on)?
Is there a longer Fan pulley (6 mm longer)?
Other smart solutions)!
All suggestions appreciated
:-) Stig Ram
Ps. My SnowTiger as well as my Alpine SV is presently hibernating,
awaiting the Spring, Its cold here.
