Jim: A welding prof. here at the college tells me that you were suffering from "Metal Fume Fever" when you welded the Galvanized metal. It is caused by Zinc Oxide fumes which are poisonous and are dangerous to your respiratory system. He says grind galvinizing off and weld in very well ventilated conditions. He says use caution when you weld the acid treated metal because the heat and acid residue can be equally if not more dangerous. Godspeed Jc |
