Listers: One other item to take a good look at are the rubber hoses in the
fuel system and also the fuel pump. When I first started ours after many
years (after doing most of the right things) it smoked as the stuff in the
cylinders burned and then ran fine for a while till it got hot. Then the
right hand exhaust started pumping tons of white smoke. Oh dear - head
gasket?
Not. The dreaded Lucas pump had dripped fuel onto the muffler, and it had
soaked in through a seam somehow. I fixed the pump and the smoke went
away.
