Regarding the LAT hood rear ducts:
There is too much 'coincidence' in the shape not to have
been inspired by that design, but I agree that the
aerodynamic formulae were probably not used, as much as the
design 'look and feel' inspiration.
There is no historical use of such a shape in cars, just
louvres and holes. See Cobra, Ferrari, Jaguar, even my old
MG-TC and TD inverse louvres. Just wasn't part of
automotive lore, or design philosophy in those days.
