Some of the coil springs sold by CAT four or 5 years ago were heavier and also
shorter (by about 1 1/2 to 2" ). They couldn't have been much heavier
because they didn't ride much different, but they lowered the car. I should
have returned them, but didn't. If yours are 3" shorter I doubt you'll like
the looks of the car with them installed. I'll bet the car looks like it's
constantly going downhill.
I would think, also, that if they're really hard that the ride would be
unbearable.
