floor rest?

On the passenger side, at the front of the passenger compartment is a 
piece of sheet metal that I quess serves as a foot rest.  The carpet 
attaches to it with two snaps.  Mine is badly rusted and generally 
pretty scuzzy, by far the worst piece of metal on my car (I'll bet the 
heater core sprung a leak at one time).  Two questions:  What is this 
part called?  Does anybody have one, new or used in reasonable shape?
